Friday i went by my moms work to see her and leaving the parking lot was a blue festiva. So of course i ask who's it was. It was this mans daughter's car they have had it since 07 and she moved away and left so he drove it back and forth to work...I had mom ask him on Monday if he would sale it and he said yes. It was a 93 GL auto with 147.000 new water pump, timing belt and master cylinder. It had been hit on driver side so the fender is different color. He said he would take $300 so i brought it home. All this time this car was less then 10 mins away and the bad thing is mom seen it every day and didnt say anything..LOL.. Here are a couple pics.

well i thought i was done i got this one and a 93 GL red that Zanzer and I are doing a B6 swap on, but Thursday changed that i called about a 89 festiva for parts make offer in the iwanna. Well a nice older lady answered the phone and said well somebody came and looked at it and offered 175.00 for it but they ant come back yet and all i could see was it going to the scrap yard I told her im interested but my luck when i get there they would be there loading it up so she said let me call them and see what they are doing and call you back... so 5 mins go by and she called me back and said they had truck problems and if i wanted it for 175.00 come get it and if i didn't they would come get it.. So i went and looked at it and i found a 1989 L, FI, Auto burgundy. second owner and clean but #3 cylinder was dead but it ran and the pass. headlight and marker light was knocked out. Her husband drove it back and forth to work. So of course i saved it. Zanzer and i picked it up this morning and took her back to the shop to be with her other brother and sisters Here is a pic.

Another good score! Does it have one of those carpeted dash covers?

How much for the steering wheel cover?

Just kidding! Nice score though! Looks like it's in really good shape.

It's in really good shape....especially for the initial investment Decent interior and only one major dent on the body. WAY to good to go to the scrapper!! I still can't believe we got this one in the 11th hour. It was like getting a call from the Governor just before the switch was thrown LOL

#3 cylinder is toast and has tons of blow-by. At first I thought maybe broken rings but when I put air to the cylinder there is ALOT of air coming out of the crankcase, so I'm starting to think there's possibly a hole burnt in the piston or some other major damage. The plan for now is to drop in one of our spare Aspire motors to get her back on the road and then tear into the original motor to assess the damage.

This should make a nice car with minimal work

Zanzer, looks like you are doing your part.

Oh, and when I bought my red '92L Twinstiva, she cost me $190 and didn't run at all.

This one actually runs pretty good! Brad drove it up up on the rollback but when I went to move it around in the driveway yesterday I noticed a definite miss when I shifted into drive. I pulled her up in front of the shop and broke out the compression gauge which soon confirmed my fears. #3 plug was completely oil fouled and the numbers from #1-#4 were 170, 160, 10, and 170. When I put 50psi of compressed air to number 3 and turned the motor over to close the valves she started spewing air from every orifice of the crankcase. Nothing a quick motor swap won't fix though. We'll have her back on the road in no time

It could be worse. I bough a 93 L yesterday that has a hole in the block Best part is though....it stills runs and isn't that loud!! LOL :mregreen:

                WOW! Awesome scores!

Seems like I'm always half an hour too late when deals like this pop up.

Those cars look really sharp, especially the maroon one (my favorite Festy color lol).
