I used to work with a guy who had an old Rabbit...he said they have a million mile club. I basically called him a liar until he showed me his was over 700k. I said man how is that even possible? He said he didn't know if it had engine swaps over the years or not since he wasn't the original owner but that some of them are actually on the original un-rebuilt short blocks.

A few years ago David Letterman had a guy pull into the studio right as his car was turning over a million miles. They gave him a new car.

By the way, ^^^ That's 99.9% city driving

hmm...1,000,000 miles in a Festy. I think I'm gonna need a new seat at 500,000 miles. I think I have enough 1.3L parts to pull it off....lol

        It will be fun trying!

Hello all, our car has 265,965 on the clock and counting. The original owner bought it new with 24 miles. This fella was working as a engineer for a company when he decided to go back to school and take an advanced engineering course from FO,MO,CO, he aced the class and Ford gave him a gift certificate worth 50% off on a new Festiva ,well he snatched right on to that deal.We are the second owners of this 90 L Plus midwest rust bucket but she runs and drives like a champ. It's a 5 speed and gets 37 mpg winter and 41 in warmer weather. And now you know the rest of the story as it was told to us.

My Festiva only has about 95,000 on it, but my Mom's Toyota Corrola has about 228,000 miles on it and it is still going strong.

Welcome Stuart:wave:. This question should probably be in the Repair Help Forum, but I will answer it for you, the correct fuel pressure should be 38 to 44 psi.

38-44... Thanks... Guess I gota look elsewhere for the problem...
Dad has an old repair book that listed 65-85 PSI.
But the new book lists about 45 psi...
That's why I was checking into the pump problem...
                          Guess it's not the pump...

Stuart, look back several pages in the repair forum and you may find a few threads to help you out. Just a guess. My problem was no fuel at all, and it turned out to be the "power relay." Not your problem though if you have fuel. Did you check for spark?

Spark good, fuel good, timming good, just no start.
Compression was 40 psi, found out it should be about 145 psi...
Ran ok untill stopped for the day, then no start the next day...
It was dieing when I slowed down, it started that dueing the last week it ran.
But it always acted liked it was flooding when I stopped at a light, then had no accel for a bit when I took off, then it would clear up and run good.
started to do a tune-up but going with an engine rebuild. Engine needed a clean-up as well, Should run great after this...
But it's kinda slow when you gota work outdoors and the wind blows everyday!...
