Mine has a trailer hitch on it.
      I'm thinking of removing it.
I really see no point. I'm also not keen on putting a trailer on such a tiny car because the engine and suspension aren't designed for that.

I have a truck with 7000# rated towing capacity should I need to tow...

That's great that you have that truck!
Then then maybe you lend it to AlaskaFestivaGuy so he can get his crate home.
He using what he has, how about sending that hitch to him?

Ah, true. If all you have is a Festy, then you kinda have to use it.
My first vehicle was this truck. There's always been one in the family prior to that. So I'm used to the presence of power/cargo space/towing capacity.

I don't have trailer wiring. The PO had spliced into the rear brake lights for that. I just replaced the lights yesterday and luckily the splices were in the unit harness.
I'll take a look at the hitch later and see how its attached and see if it can be removed.

I peeked at the hitch today. Its too cold to do anything, and I'll be working on the front end (control arms, brakes, oil change) soon, so I'll poke at it more then.
It bolts to the spare tire well and to the bumper. Doesn't seem very strong, but I guess it works.
