  • Well, this seemed a bit Excessive!!

So, anyone who has read my thread about junkyarding adventures knows I am somewhat cursed when it comes to getting into, and back out of a yard unscathed. Today, I had a new experience. Nearly had a Ford Focus dropped on me.
One of the guys in the yard (Not my 'favorite' yard, BTW) was moving a Ford Focus with the big lift as I was walking through the yard. He hit a big bump, well really a tree stump in the middle of the road, everything lurched forward when he came off the stump, the car rolled off the forks, and came to a stop maybe 3 or 4 feet from me. Needless to say, a fair amount of cussing was required. Both by me and him, because he was supposed to be taking the car to the garage to pull body panels. Oops.

Sheesh, I had kind of gotten used to dodging the wildlife at the yard, but now it's also apparently raining cars while I'm there. Now, where's my beer?

For the uninitiated, here's the thread I started after my first visit to what has become "my favorite yard".

Dang, we made it out of the LKQ unscathed. I am going to have to watch myself around you in yards though. But you did give me a disclaimer on the way in. LOL

Not to put too fine a point on it, but if the JY gods are after you, I don't want to be collateral damage!

Bugs and other critters were simply not enough for you were they? You just had to throw a new element in there. All I know is I probably wouldve had to go home and change my FTLs if thatd happened to me. Just glad you werent hurt.

                              Well, this was odd

Decided to tempt fate again today, and hit my "favorite" yard. Just to see if anything new came in. Got in, picked up a couple of things I don't really need, but want, and got out. No harm, no foul, not even a decently close call. Maybe Pat was on to something, perhaps the Festiva gods were angry with me. Course, that doesn't explain the bees, snakes, foxes, etc. That day, all I was after was Festiva parts.
