So, anyone who has read my thread about junkyarding adventures knows I am somewhat cursed when it comes to getting into, and back out of a yard unscathed. Today, I had a new experience. Nearly had a Ford Focus dropped on me.
One of the guys in the yard (Not my 'favorite' yard, BTW) was moving a Ford Focus with the big lift as I was walking through the yard. He hit a big bump, well really a tree stump in the middle of the road, everything lurched forward when he came off the stump, the car rolled off the forks, and came to a stop maybe 3 or 4 feet from me. Needless to say, a fair amount of cussing was required. Both by me and him, because he was supposed to be taking the car to the garage to pull body panels. Oops.
Sheesh, I had kind of gotten used to dodging the wildlife at the yard, but now it's also apparently raining cars while I'm there. Now, where's my beer?
For the uninitiated, here's the thread I started after my first visit to what has become "my favorite yard".
