Lurker turned newbie--I joined this site a couple of years ago, made a donation so's I'd feel better about about mining your brains for information.
I've been in the process of transplanting an '88 carbed 4 spd. manual into a slightly wrecked '93 injected auto that I want to use as a DD/Shop car. I'm ready to go--car is cleaned-up, painted, registered and not running very well.
The engine starts instantly, idles perfectly but has a "dead spot" that requires pumping the gas to run up the RPMs. I can slip the clutch, pump gas, and get moving-then by staying on the gas and up-shifting quickly, it runs fine, pulls strong in every gear but will not "cruise". As soon as I back off the gas, it starts to stall-out. Carb has been cleaned and gaskets and needle valve replaced, also new manifold gasket--holds 22 lbs of vacuum at idle, and has good fuel pressure.
I need help, or a new carb if someone has one for sale
Thank you
