  • Who's planning a winter build?

The idea occurred to me to start a thread to see who is planning a winter build project this year and what are your plans?

I'm curious to see who will have the balls to try a V6 swap

For me, i'm in the planning stages to turbo my V6 this winter

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

If I have the $$ I'll be doing a B8 or BP swap on my 93' but thats a big if  probably won't have any $$ with school going on, paying rent, etc...

Gonna try and get a "handle" on things. I'm hopefully going to be mostly stockpiling front end rebuild parts and brake trinkets along the lines of:

      Some 185/60-14 Performance All-Seasons.
      Festiva Inner Tie Rods
      Escort Outer Tie Rods
      Festiva Steering Rack Boots
      Control Arms and Balljoints
      Poly Bushings (Super-Pro CA-CH, Moog SB-CA, Super-Pro SB-CH)
      Aspire Front Swaybar
      EGT Front Calipers
Aspire Rotors (perhaps D/S, likely not)
Aspire Master Cylinder and Brake Booster
      New Brake Fluid (Duh)
Aspire Rear Brake Shoes and Hardware Kit
      Front Wheel Bearings and Seals

If I can get through all of that, then perhaps:
      Ebay Coilover Sleeves
SWS BM 10" 150/125 springs a la Skeeter, though I might go 175/150.
Leapin Racing Home Depot Rear Sway Bar (add-on to my Aspire swap)
      Custom Fab Front Strut Bar
      Custom Fab Front Tie Bar
      Porterfield R4-S Pads
FMS Stainless lines (I assume the Festiva set works for the Aspire swap)
A solution to Steering Rack Bushings in Poly-urethane.
      1988 Chevy Sprint Turbo 997cc

          ^^ Fingers Crossed.

I had been planning a summer/early fall build, but some hold ups have developed, so now it might be a winter build.

I hope to be tearing the motor out of my Capri and rebuilding it, and building it up while I'm in there. Then hopefully get the motor in my festiva this winter too..

i would like to get a diffrent car for the winter... i would love to get a hold of honda civic wagon with the awd and put a turbo on it... that thing would be awesome in the snow

for the festiva... it will be sitting in the shop when there is snow on the ground, and its most likly gonna get the "big" fuel system upgrade to support the power i plan on making and also so the e85 dosnt eat it all up... also get a 4 or maybe a 8 point cage put in with 5 point harness....

Ah... cool! So the Chassis-side are the same from Festiva to Aspire. I assume those Aspire lines would likely work with the EGT calipers too?
