  • Original engine mileage

    New member / first post.

Hello to everyone. My question is: What is your highest mileage on your original engine of your Festiva? I have, and bought new, a 1988 Ford Festiva LX, which now has 476,000 miles (PLUS on it). This car has been parked for twelve years and I have decided to reactivate it. She runs like scared rabbit!!
A hunch is creativity trying to tell you something.

    Awesome mileage!!

I have a '93GL with about 217K miles on it with the original auto transaxle, but B6 engine and Aspire suspension swaps. "Luxstiva" will run, but she needs an extensive overhaul.

    Karl
'93GL "Prettystiva" ticking B3 and 5 speed, backup DD; full swaps in spring!
    '91L "AquaMutt" my '91L; B6 swap/5 speed & Aspire brakes, DD/work car
'92L "Twinstiva" 5sp, salvage titled, waiting for repairs...
    '93GL "Luxstiva," '94 B6 engine & ATX; needs overhauled
'89L "Muttstiva," now a storage bin, future trailer project

Will it make half a million ? I know we have at least one member who made that milestone. I think there is a video of it rolling over (to 500,000) on here somewhere.

            90 lx 372k

I've got a 90 lx that I bought new. Still has original engine, clutch, a/c cpmpressor, starter, 5 speed trans. The brakes however are not original as it has a 97 aspire brake swap. Still gets 40 + miles to gal. Haven't gotten tired of driving it all those miles.

I taught my three kids to drive in it and now am giving my 15 year old grandson lessons. Maybe it will still be around for the great grandkids LOL. Heck I hope I'm still around

Awesome mileage. EFI cars tend to last longer. Post more pics and let us know how you "re activate" it.

465000 then the body finally died, I put the motor in another body then, but have lost track of what car has donor parts from who, ours normally make it to 350000 on 200 miles daily.

The car is 22 years old and its been parked for 12 years, so it was only driven for 10 years. 476,000/10 = 47600 miles per year, or an average of 130 miles per day, everyday for ten years.

I think so. At its high point we were putting 1100 miles on her a week approximately. And as I said, she is running like a scared rabbit ( trying to make-up for lost time).

                            Thanks
