  • drag truck

I have a 87 Mazda b2000 that I got for almost nothing. It had a broken crank.

I was going to put a Kia four cylinder in it as they share a block, but after I was given a blazer, and watching a lot of pinks all out, I now want to build a purpose built drag truck.

I see using the duratec v6 3.0 with a big Turbo. Found a Guy making t5 adapter plate, Which should let me use a c4, reverse manual valve body with transbrake. 4 link the rear.

    What ya think?

Cause 5.0s suck and like to split in half at 400hp.

        And everyone else has them.

Why would you want to be like 95% of the mustangs out there?

Exactly. And it wouldn't be "Mazda powered" even though the duratec motor is a Ford deal, the mpv, tribute, and some of the mazda6(I think) came with that motor.

This is what I'm thinking. It has a Toyota motor, but it is still BAD ANKLES!

What??? Good thing to know, because I think we have several people on here well over the 400hp mark with a SBF.

The aftermarket is loaded with parts. You can put together a 331 or 347 stroker with your choice of aluminum heads for relatively cheap. That being said, I like the idea of a 3.0L Duratec turbo. It would be unique, and the engines are plentiful. The bottom line is that with the RWD truck platform, you can put almost anything in it.

Eh, i'm making 362hp at the wheels, that translates to about 417 at the crank. The same engine used to be ran in a 10 second car and launched/shifted at 7400rpm. It's all in how you build'em.

By the way, ^^^ That's 99.9% city driving

I know, I've seen the car.

450-500 is about the limit for a stock block though.

find you a 460 / c6 combo ( dirt cheap) Then pick up a cheap stoker kit and take it to 552 CID.

                              Heres a kit for $1300.
