LOL, I had a 67 Mustang, 390, 4 speed without p/s. My project 84 S10 Blazer is 2wd, 5/6" drop. No p/s, no air, no fan (electric) The v-6 (carbed) looks pretty small without all the add-ons.

The Festy is like driving on a Wii

My old Buick threw the p/s belt once. I was too lazy to change it for like 3 months.
225/60 up front, I had previously swapped in a smaller steering wheel from a newer FWD Buick, and the car weighed ~5000 pounds.
        That was fun.

I bet you would get "Popeye" forearms!
The Mustang needs P/S because it is a heavy beast!

Festivas are too light to need power steering. They are useful for people lost and arm/hand (or even broken arm).

What I really like about my regular Steering is, if my tire pressures are low (in the front wheels) the steering will be harder, which let's me know.

Wouldn't it be sweet if we could retrofit EPS (electronic power steering)

That way, it would only draw power when necessary like at low speed for parking and such.

EPS is becoming more and more common, especially on Ford vehicles such as the Escape, Fiesta and Focus. Still, many more have it.

                      reason

I only installed it to say my Festiva is "fully loaded". I have nothing against armstrong steering. I also prefer manual brakes to power brakes any day, but that's another topic.

                       !!

I only noticed the lack of power steering when I put the huge celica wheels and tires on my festy. And then it was just a matter of getting rolling.

My last truck was a 1967 f250 4x4 390bb on 39.5 boggers. Manual steering and breaks! And locked in the rear.... not a fun dd and a huge pain in parkinglots! I dorve it daily for 9months like that. It was completley restored tho..... I miss my truck
