I keep my tires inflated to 44psi (mine are rated to 44 psi), I drive no more than 55mph, I dont take off from stop signs/lights, I anticipate stops, and I also removed about 60lbs from the car by removing the back seat and seat belts along with the stock rear speakers (I have my own 6X9s and sub, which doesnt help the weight issue, lol).

Also, the racing pinstripe on mine increased the MPG by a lot! :p

Mine gets a steady 43 MPG overall, half town half country driving.

5-speed, I don't rev it high, don't lug it, don't run over 62 MPH. 12" tires with 35 PSI in them.

I dont know if I just drive my car hard or what, I have a 88 carb festy and i'm getting between 28-35mpg the last two fill ups. I know letting it warm up in the morning really hurts the mileage, and I do burn some oil

You would be suprized how much even driving 70mph will lessen your mileage. Also, check your tires, if they say 44psi max......Do 44psi and you will see a jump in mpg right there. (by maybe 2-3 mpg)

You'll also see the center of your tread wear faster and less traction in the snow and rain.

Run stop signs at night in second gear...no headlights no stop...J/K...Parking where you don't have to back out of the space saves tires a great deal in a fwd car, and marginal gas savings. If you have a bunch of weekend errands do the farthest away one first so your engine is warmer for all the starts and stops on the way back.

Never seen center line tire wear happen in the hundreds of thousands of miles I've put on festivas.
Will see inner or outer tread wear long before center line wear with fully inflated tires.
Snow and rain traction reduction is correct though!

Makes sense, these pewny tires are only so wide so the center wouldn't bulge much.

Inner and outer tread wear would have most to do with camber, no?
