You might also want to mention the Aspire.

But first, what's he looking for in a commuter car? If he's just looking for a beater that he can run into the ground, then don't let him near a Festy. Let him buy a Honda. If he's looking for something to drive AND fix up and take care of, then by all means you should talk him into one.

Festivas are too rare to be in the hands of someone who doesn't care what they drive.
Festiva: Because even my dog can build a Honda.

"It looks like I will be getting a job transfer that will require me to start commuting 75 miles each way to work. I really don't want to destroy my Liberty with the miles and am looking at buying a CHEAP used econobox I can put 25,000 miles per year on and not care. Anyone got any ideas? I was thinking maybe a '90s honda civic or toyota trecel"

Those 2 words alone may be cause for concern.

I think I'd let him go with the other suggestions and keep a Festy out of the mix.

        Just my 2¢.

Let him buy a "trecel", if he can find one.

Early 90's tercels and paseos are great little cars and sell real cheap. Hondas still have value to them and im afraid to own one because they still are stolen way too often.

It seems that he had driven a Festiva for a few years and then decided the time was right to move up to a nicer car so he bought the Caddy. He drove the Caddy for about 6 months and decided he didn't like it as much as the Festiva he owned before.

a fellow posted that in the thread on the other site ahah
