If you have a place to put it for a few months, the time and tools to part it, then that will be your best moneymaking strategy. On the other hand, if it is easily repairable, it would be quicker and in some ways more satisfying to fix it and sell it to someone who will take care of it.

If you part it out, you may also find some parts you want to keep.

Personally, I would just part it out...since I do this for a living.

The injector pump alone is worth $500 used. That should pay for the cost of the car.

Disclaimer: it ain't easy to part out a car. You have to deal with ebay fees, shipping fees (& damages), customer complaints, spammers, low-ballers, PayPal freezing an account for 90 days with no explanation, etc....but in the end, the money that you make should cover you for all of your troubles.

I WOULD INSPECT THE OIL PAN and Main, rod bearings, wrist pins aswell as the TURBO and let not forget the camshaft, after all, oil is the life blood of any engine, sure you could buy it for 500 bux but buy ing parts to fix it may put it in to your profit margin, so basically you could fix the car for 1500 bux and sell it for 1500 bux, you did the labor for free, and not getting any thing out of it. but thats just my 2 cents.

Sounds exactly why I don't do this anymore.

...but you can make good money doing it.

Yeah, it's not for everyone. I just wanted him to know that even though there is good money in it, well, you earn ALL of that money.
