Just yesterday, gave her new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. NGK Iridiums....
Wanted to do oil change and speedo cable fix as well, but it was getting late so I guess it will have to wait until I get more free time from work. In the mean time, I managed to show my friends how light the car was by lifting the front off the ground.....laughs ensued.
Mileage definitely went up. Did a full shift delivering today and the needle barely moved.
Also had to drop by Restaurant Depot to get chicken for the restaurant. With the back seats gone, I managed to store eight 40 lb cases of chicken, a large box of romaine lettuce, and a large box of celery and still have my rear view. I had a co-worker ride shotgun and the funny part is, even with me, him, and the cargo, the festy still hasn't hit 2000lbs
I thought the engine would struggle with the load, but it handled it pretty well. My boss also likes it because it gives his restaurant free publicity because of the paint job the previous owner had on it.
Next time, I'm really going to fix the speedo. As anxious as I am to know how many MPGs I'm getting, I can't because the odo has died with the speedo. Other than that, I'm loving the perks of being a Festy owner.
