The junkyard said "probably $300" when I asked them a couple of weeks ago.
I would love to just drop in a new piston/rod. Especially if I don't have to pull the shortblock or drop the crank to do it.
I'm just not sure if the cylinder wall and crank journal are still good.~Austin

i can garuntee the crank journal will have to be resized and polished and you'll have to run under sized bearings for at least that cyl.
have you pulled the other 3 cyl to inspect the condition of the bearings and rods?Trees aren't kind to me...

And it is now running perfect!
Smooth idle, no smoke, lots of power.
I think everything in the engine bay is good.
I want to thank everyone here for your help and input and for putting up with me when I get frustrated at this little Asian car.
I will try to come to Festiva Madness (that's the one in October in N.C., right?)
And I'd be up for a mini-meet in the DFW area if anyone around here is interested.~Austin
