  • Today, I painted the brackets I built for the air intake and my new driving lights. Primered the right rear quarter panel and right rear window surrounding area. Cleaned up engine bay. Still got a ways to go but..... Slowly but surely!

    • Put it on the lift in shop class, got rear wheels off and the right drum off, in an hour..., this is what happens when you have to push a truck chassis with no steering out of the shop. Currently stuck on the lower return spring that doesn't want to leave its best friend Mr. Brake Shoe so I can replace him and cure his friend Mr. handbrake pivot point of his epileptic siezures with some PB Blaster. Then the same on the left side. 1.5 hour classes, and I have through Thursday. Lets hope this gets done

      • ^ You sound like me when I was in high school, my senior year (last year) 4 out of 7 of my classes were in the shop

        • This is my Junior year, first shop class, was invited to Adv. Shop next semester but AP US History is conflicting, and that's what puts me in college sadly. We have 4 class days at 1.5 hours each, hopefully shop next year. If they decide to tell us about our culminating project that is a state requirement... that we were supposed to start last November I can start my BP + Kia Gseries swap. And boy, I have heard a number of small car jokes with the car in shop. I rebuke them with "43mpg at teenage male driving, tires are $40, A full driveline swap to double the hp for less than you spend on tires. etc.",
lol, just a little off topic

                  • Shop teacher didn't realize this is my first brake job, He doesn't know what to do with auto-adjust drum brakes, and I'm learning as I go. I think all I need to do is reset the adjuster, then put the shoes back on for a third time or soemthing, then the drum should go back on yes?

Thanks the old 4.9l! It's just a little teaser I'm sure the Florida guys will take lots of pics but my mind is blown the paint has so much flake and changes from purple to black, simply amazing!

                        • Painted my wheels 'matte aluminum'. A little shinier than I thought it would be, but looks 1340953045x better than pink/blue/grey/brakedust/mud colored!!!!

Today I'm headed to pick up these:

Should look good on Festevil I think, since he's the only one not already equipped with the perfect set of wheels/tires. Don't know if I'll go with 155/80R13s or 175/70R13s though, depends on the price difference mostly.
                              No festiva for me ATM...
