          • Cleaned the carb today, first from outside, looks much nicer! Changed few vacuum hoses, and then used carb cleaner spray for inside cleaning. And then adjusted CO-consentration.

Now it idles nice, we'll see if makes a difference to consumption..
Hi! Do you wanna ride with me? I have red cabrio, it has the biggest engine what was available when the car was new. It also has about every possible accessories what was available then.

            • I bought a set of wheels. I can't find any aftermarket rims I like. At least not for the price.

So I got a set of 14" steelies for $50.
              They're from a 70 something Celica. 14"x5.5".

They have old dry rotted tires on them so they need to be replaced. But I test fit them just for the hell of it.
              The tires are 185/75R14.
I had a trucktiva for a few minutes, haha. I backed out of the driveway and immediately scraped the front fenders on a tiny bump.

I also changed the oil and investigated my shifter problems.
The shifter has been ratting/clanking and is looser. The bushings at the shifter itself are still good. The ones at the transmission end are shot.

I removed the linkage a long time ago and took out the rivet. I replaced all the bushings at that time. There's now a lot of slop in that joint.
Also, the brace rod thing... The bushing inside that is nearly gone. That's where my ratting sound is coming from. Where can I buy this bushing?

              • Cleaned and vacuumed the inside.

Also, a few days ago had my valve stem seals, and valve cover gasket replaced. Now no more oil leaks, or burning oil. Now I need more JBweld to fix that darn coolant leak, then my engine will be good until the next oil change in another 2k miles.

                    • Spent all day today, from 10am till 7pm, doing body work on my Festiva.
Ground all the rust off around the car, riveted sheet metal around the right rear wheel well, then bondoded the hell out of the car. sanded most of it and will finish up sanding tomorrow. I will prime it after that.

                      • Oh awesome.
I knew you could get the little plastic ones from Mazda. And now NAPA.
I wasn't sure if anyone still made the ones for the support rod.

I made plans to clean and paint the steelies.
They're currently a gunmetal metallic. I like that colour, especially with the beauty ring, so I'll go with that.
The hub bore is a near perfect fit, but the stock hub caps won't lock onto the Celica wheels

I did that to my steelies last week. I have the stock wheels for the car and they where white with spots of rust all over it. I ground/sanded all the rust off, then primed them and painted them a hammered black. I put the little steel center hubs on and it looks pretty good.

                          • Had a brand new fuel tank ordered off ebay.

Finally I will be able to fill my tank without wasting gas, and being a rolling fire hazard.

                            • I sure hope it wasn't a carb tank. I have a nice one that was used for only three months. I had to switch to an EFI tank because there was no room for a carb fuel pump.
