What have you done to your Festiva today!?

I am using the same bushing and universal brackets, I am having zero issues, and this is with hard braking, acceleration, and overall spirited driving. They have been on the car for over a month, maybe two by now.

This is why earlier, or maybe in the other thread in the arena, that it appears YMMV. I am hearing a lot of people say they had the same problem, others who haven't. I dunno. I do know, I will never use those brackets again myself.

9.5126 fits with the studs reaching all the way to the outer ends of the mounting slots. It can't possibly slide.
The shell is 3 5/8" long vs 4 1/2" long for the 9.5108 set that allows the movement.

I might look into this as a point of research. Is it possible that the ones that list for the Aspire have a bracket that is different than the Festy one, one that doesn't slide, or as much at least?

It is indeed. At least for the 24mm bar anyway. There are many bushing sizes for both shell lengths.

Kind of what I did with the Festiva today..

Used the '89 as a tailgater to get our 1990 Nissan Maxima (no tags) to the junker. Poor thing gave us 8 years of good service before the rust was irreparable. The control arms were held on by a string of rust to the body.. somehow made it there, even hit 75MPH near the end!

Sold it to the salvage yard.. they immediately get in, check if the e-brake works, and do donuts in it LOL. I got to ride in the back seat. The only scary part was the screaming CV axles and the front body sway haha.

All in all, a good day!

I trashed a 95 Aspire, ripped out its entire wiring harness. It was fun watching the tow truck guy pull it onto his truck with the car having no control arms lol.

When I gutted my 89 Festiva, only the shell was left. He towed it to the junkyard with only the firewall insulation riding on two space saver tires on the rear only. No esats, no interior, no carpeting, nothing but rust. Believe it or not, what's left of the 89 harness is now in my 93GL.

Drove mine 3 hours, picked up a 2nd gen B6 from a JY for Skeeterskeeper. Had a reported 11K miles on it, and looks it! Taking it up to him tomorrow, he is gonna swap it into "Trouble."

Got my nolathane outer control arm bushings in the mail today from australia.

They seem much more stout than the moog bushings pictured online

I picked up a distributor at LKQ last Spring from a 93 L that had 118K on it. Today I swapped it out with the
one on Bessie (333K on her) to make sure it was working OK. Could not tell any difference in how she ran.
