There are traction devices out now for high tq and turbo apps that cut timing when it detects wheelspin, run off the vss. They are super effective, driver mod with 6 wire splices FTW.

This is more of the general direction I was questioning. Though I know a stock B6T makes more than a stock BP, I was wondering if it would be possible to make a Mod BP more like a stock B6T. Now that I add up all the responses that say it is possible but not feasable, I'd rather go feasable.

I guess that fact of the entire matter is that I don't know Jack Squat about Turbos. I know google will help with that.

I REALLY do not give a rats behind about how much power a dyno says I have, I just want lots of it.

Just a little scared of the change. Never had turbo before. But change seems to be in my future. I guess I am leary of all the tight tolerances under the hood. I will try my best to remedy most of them. This car is not my dd and I have no deadline to get it done. When the time for an engine comes and a B6T goes in, I know where to find the help I need. THANKS GUYS,

Talk to Greg about going with a rear turbo setup. It keeps the heat and the exra parts out of the engine bay.

^I'll look into that. Think I saw pics of it here a while ago.

Honestly, is a BPT too much for a Festy? I don't believe that anyguy can have too much power, ego wise, but in reality what can a Festy put to the ground? It seems that a B6T is the best bang for the effort put into it.

I know ff.commers have been doing b6t's for quite some time. I don't doubt the knowledge cause I know it is there. I'm trying to do the same. Again, thanks guys

To me when vics would hit on a BP that was plenty of power for a festiva. I was able to smoke 3rd off just by stomping the pedal. I guess bigger and wider tires would of helped that problem but I enjoyed that much power. Id like to ride in a b6t festiva just to feel its power.

my b6t passed emissions and was my daily/only car... and it ran a 13.2 @110 so im guessing it was pretty close to the 200whp mark
I know its a piece of crap but im still faster...and its 100% legal!!!!!

Referring to making a 1.8 put out 200hp with no turbo. A honda can barely do it, and it cant handle boost set up like that. The mazdas are more stout, asking for boost and ready from factory, or out of the junkyard having served other people already.

I've ridden in MotoXpress's B6T Festiva. It's not the same kind of forceful pull that you get in a muscle car during a $100 test (tape a Bill on the passenger dash, take off hard and challenge them to reach the Bill), but it's the kind of pull that immediately shows you an extreme power to weight ratio. The car feels like a 4-wheel crotch-rocket. Going B6T, I'd highly recommend getting a really good, low, firm suspension to handle the torque or you'll be like a bobblestiva.

OMG! Holy Crap! I Swear! This Sucks! I can't take it anymore!

I don't know what to do. At first I was going to put in the B6D (that I have in my posession). No real solid build thread info (would be nice). Then I was going to go BP. More hp but if I am going this route may as well go B6T. Originally didn't want that. So now I ask what about the B6D and turbo it. Good idea since I already have it? Will it handle it?

Use the b6d block with a b6t swap.

B6t swap for the ease of it. Everythings there, the turbo, oil lines, water lines, manifold, intercooler and piping. No fabricating except for the mounts. And the wiring is not as bad as people make it out to be. It's nothing to be scared of.

Best thing is that you don't have to keep sourcing a lot of parts if do the b6t swap. That can get expensive real quick. If a 16 year old can do it you can too.

What are the diffs between the D and the T? then what are the pros and cons? What all would I need? I know the D is 10:1 and the T is 7:1 or so iirc from other posts.

AGAIN you guys don't even realiuse the help you are giving me. Thanks
