I've searched some, not very good at figuring out how to find what I'm looking for, I don't understand the engine codes.

I'm pretty sure the whole car was designed by Mazda. Kia built it, Ford put a badge on it. It's not really a Ford at all lol.Originally posted by Larry Hampton View PostSo........ I have a Ford car, made by KIA in Korea, with a Mazda engine made in Japan?!?

Right, I'm sure Mazda/Ford had Kia assemble them because of lower labor rates in S. Korea. There was very little profit margin on our cars when they were new.Originally posted by jamesmc View PostI'm pretty sure the whole car was designed by Mazda. Kia built it, Ford put a badge on it. And this is why so many Mazda motors (and the Escort GT's BP) bolt up to the Festy tranny....90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods
