Well after shadetree came and got his parts I desided to go ahead and gather up everything I will need to get my stiva shell on rolling wheels.

I managed to get my new control arms, rack, 1 spindle, struts and springs so far. Tomorrow ill have to get a spindle off the parts car, a control arm bolt off the same car, sway bar and rear trailing arm and I think that will be everything. Should only take a hour or so to have it sitting on its own wheels so I can bring it home. Friggin cant wait!

Once I get that bad girl home the build will start. BTW im also close to my 1000th post!

^^ Sounds like your brother needs some of that coffee too  Good luck on the build looking forward to more pics! Also, if you want to see what a truly "rust free" car looks like, you need to come down here to GA lol. We have mustangs from the 60s sitting in peoples yards that are spotless
        No festiva for me ATM...

Finding cars up here with a solid body is like finding a pot of gold especially a festiva. The LX we have is the only one I have seen yet that the quarters wasn't rusted through, well besides the one i'm getting ready to build. Surface rust isn't nothing. I'd like to pick up a few cars from the south.

            Mother &$@^$%!

Been up since 5:30 this morning trying to get the rear trailing arm and another spindle so I can put everything together up at the JY. So far spent 2 hours cutting the trailing arm off my old fester. Finally got that done. Now me and daniel had to pretty much cut the drivers side spindle off my parts car.

Trying to get a festiva built for the meets next year. This thing is literally a shell. It has no rust at all and is silver with pin striping that says festiva on it. I believe it has 1 dent in the quarter because someone backed into it at the yard. This festiva has been in the junkyard for many years. I think its time to bring it back to life!
              Very cool!

Ditton on the pix and progress! Always neat to see one more brought back from the dead.

              Good luck.

Some Ford dealers actually still have these decals. Mine does. Stevens Ford in Enid, OK. They're not cheap.

Well I guess I made some progress. Got the whole rear trailing arm and suspension under the rear of the car. Even sitting on tires now. I was gonna start on the front end today aswell but I brought every bolt but the ones for the front. I got the front strut assymbly on both sides installed. I also got both LCA's installed. Gotta look around and find the bolts for the rack and spindles.

Being out in the 90+ degree sunshine pretty much drained all my energy. I was gonna try to get back at it tomorrow but the yard is closed on wen.

Got a few pics ill post up shortly.

Hell I've been looking at the chart on my torque sticks and I've been torquing to 80 ft-lbs. No wonder why they are a pain to take off after a while.

Well I need wheels on it to get it home. I was just using my hands because my brother was using the 14mm socket I needed. usually ill hand tighten them then use a ratchet to tighten them to my 70ft lbs which is getting the stud tight, then I give them about a hard 1/4 turn to finish them off. I could understand using a torque wrench if it was a high performance race car or something, but its just a festiva and my hand arm torque is enough.

haha I's just teasin! I do personally use a torque wrench on pretty much everything though.

Hope you get it home today!
