  • My Free Festiva

Hey Everyone, picked this up yesterday with a car trailer, its a 2/93 Festiva Trio , 2 door, 5 speed manual.

It was sitting in a reserve under a tree for 5 months and the owner couldnt be bothered fixing it and re registering it as it was of no use to her.

It has some bumps and scratches and a broken front screen but is complete and is now running although i dont have the keys to it as she couldnt find them.

It has a really high clutch pedal which i'm hoping i can adjust out and the shifter is really sloppy, just as much play in gear as in neutral.

I dont know what we are going to do with it yet, might fix it up and sell it or maybe drive it around as is, or even respray it and use it for my small business but i'd have to take the Ford badges off it.. lol

I'll get some pics up within the hour.

    Cheers Josh

haha yeah i was having a play on it, someone has put speakers in it that are to big for the standard covers to go over, so i want to move the speakers to behind the dash plastic to see if it gives enough clearance to put the covers back on.

Who ever wired the cd player up had no idea what they are doing, its only working when the car is on and the wiring job is crap, you can see in the interior shot the wires are on top of the carpet.

Its not my type of car, for one its a Ford lol i'm a Holden boy but the fact that its soooo good on fuel is a winner, and with some alloy wheels and a small sports exhaust plus a debadge it might be okay although i think it would look better white with my business logo all over it.

        Anyway here are some pics.

Assume you have the oil cap somewhere?

Time to change and/or flush the brake fluid.

She cleaned up nicely, interior is in good shape too!

Looks like a keeper to me!

No the oil cap is missing, it may be in the engine bay somewhere but i havent had a good look down low, putting it on jack stands tomorrow to check everything under neath so hopefully i find it. It may even be in the grass where the car was when i picked it up.

The body isnt perfect but everything works as it should

                Nice!

                And FREE!!

                Can't beat that.

I like the "half a wash" pic. That way you only need one pic to show before and after.

BTW, Woodsy, you do know this is a Mazda design, made in Korea by Kia, sold with a Ford badge and given a fake Spanish name?

                How many kms on it?

Nah not cup holders, although if we keep it i will put some in, we arnt smokers so might make something up to sit where the ashtray goes.

The half wash pic was done for my business website, i'm a detailer so this car was perfect for me in afew different ways.

If we decide to keep it this is the route i want to go down.

                        Repaint white
                        Alloy wheels
                        Small sports exhaust
Carby kit - the only engine mods would be to get even better fuel economy out of it
See through business signage on the side and rear windows and spreading down onto the door and rear panels
                        Debadge
Make a frame to carry all my chemicals and equipment in the back - It has quite a large boot area with the rear seat double folded forward.
                        Tinted windows

Not going to lower it because around here we need all the ground clearance we can get.

First things first i need some keys for it and an oil cap as at the moment i have to break into it when ever i want to get into the thing.

its going to come up so well with a polish, i might even do a before and after half / half polish and take a pic.

                              ^^ X2!!!

You can't throw a rock without hitting a white car but the aqua ones are somewhat rare.
