  • Aspire vs. Festiva exhaust manifold

Is the Aspire exhaust manifold any better than the Festiva's as far as flow?

you want to keep the festy manifold on, it retains more heat and the #1 and 4 cylinders don't face eachother as they do with the aspire manifold.

How about the gen 1 323 manifold for the B6? Preferred over the Festy's or the Aspire's?

yes, that's cast and should work. but the festiva down pipe will dip too far and stress the exhaust. there's a 40 dollar b6 1st gen down pipe on ebay (new) that I almost bought for my b6 swap but I'll be going with a better flowing exhaust than stock so no need for it.

the b6 gen 1 flows better than the aspire

I thought the aspire exhaust manifold was more restrictive.

Then the scavenging came back into play and it got better. Based on my experience I wouldn't do it. I got a jy mani and dp for the winter. All better

His real problem might have been the 2.25" piping. Compare the exhaust on a 1200 or 1300cc motorcycle, which flows much better. It ain't no 2.25" I betcha.

paul is right. I'll have to drill my old manifolds studs out so I can slap it back on. lol.

Discuss making performance enhancements to the OEM-spec engine in your Festiva or Aspire.

oh, tom, just thinking, most bikes don't have catalytic converters though either.

arty, does the 1st gen b6 down pipe bolt up to the stock festy cat back?

not a direct fit, the dp will need to be altered. b6 has a longer down collector.

oops, lemme say that differently. you may still be right...

b3 manifold and b3 downpipe obviously fits

would the b6 manifold and b6 downpipe be similar length?

I currently have aspire manifold (a touch longer) and b3 downpipe and it works but it doesn't like it

^ yes, at least up to where the cat connects (that mount point should be different).

like a different angle for the studs to go through. I wish I'd of carried that DP they just had to cut halfway through. just to see. I don't wanna spend 40 bucks to find out it doesn't work. but then again I can get someone nearby to weld a plate to it or something as long as the height is right. it does seem like the 90' angle is much higher than the b3 DP
