Geos are ugly, they look like a real pos econo car. I can't even seem to visualize my festiva as an econobox..

haha that's awesome. nothing like trumping other metro's at their own game. isn't there a 1.8 in the storm lsi or whatever? or is it the 1.6 the guy was talking about in that thread? not much to compete with...I know they're a little lighter but still.

        that bp+t will be interesting.

i think an easier swap would be the 92-93 storm gsi 1.8 stock 140hp 120 tq, also i think that engine came in some isuzus a friend of mine did one about 10 years ago & it was a blast!

Only reason wifey and I are still considering hunting up a Metro as her backup dd (only the old old body style) is because it was available here as a 5 door hatch. If we got the festiva five door he it'd be all over though. We're still looking hard for 91-96 Escort or Tracer wagon though, for a possible BP/4 speed auto swap. Tracer LTS wagon anyone?
            No festiva for me ATM...

I like the 95 Metro best. The first year of the latest gen of Metros, and not OBD-II.
90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods

i actually prefer a geo metro(first gen) over a festy for a few reasons...
                  4 wheel independent suspension
                  direct bold in rear drums
                  lower roof line
                  more aerodynamic
                  lighter(curb weight on a 2 door hatch is 1650)
I know its a piece of crap but im still faster...and its 100% legal!!!!!

Only the 92 and 93 geo storm gsi came 1.8. they also had 1.6's but the 1.8 was more desireable and packed more of a punch. My gsi was a 1.8 and it hauled butt. The asuna sunfire in canada was the same thing pretty much as the isuzu impulse, which is the big sister to the storm. Metros were not based of the isuzu layout but based off the suzuki swift. A GTi swap from a swift in a metro would be pretty sweet but the metro had no relationship with the storm at all. storms were built by isuzu and I believe the metro should be stamped and built by suzuki.

Theres a thread/post somewhere about that. My pass. door used to flap. fixed it after I read the post. Roll window down place a 2x4 or substitute in door , and gently press upper door fram inward. Be careful!! It works.

Makes sense. You're basically bending the door top in to press harder against the roof seal, which should keep it pressed closed better, even at speed.

If I had more room, time and money, I would love to get a rust free '95 Metro hatch to play with! Slightly lighter and with better aerodynamics are the main draws compared with Festivas.

I would normally think the same thing, but I did a good amount of reading on the 5 door hatch metro (I was going to buy one) but then I remembered knowing skeeter from a few years before that and got in touch and we rode up and bought mine from MD.

they are actually, check it out, very interesting.

                          edit>> and they have a G13B dohc 1.3 which puts out 100hp?! and 83 ft/lb! not bad

Like navdoc suggested it works. My car doors were slightly raised. So I just pushed down a little and haven't had the wind issue yet!
