The box was standard and the upgrade had an extension that covered the shifter section.

I have one without the shifter part I can sell for cheap.

            Welcome Mike!

My '89L (the original Muttstiva) was also white with a red "hockey stripe." She didn't come with a console (plain box) either. I had to put one in.

+1 on B6 (at least) and Aspire brakes. And better tires/wheels too.

To know you're mechanically inclined and have already discovered the lousy Festy front hub/brake design, start keeping an eye out for a junked or donor Ford Aspire. Those hubs are a direct fit on a Festy and are vastly superior when it comes to doing brake work (vented and floating rotor!). Because the wheel bolt pattern is 100mm instead of the Festy 4 1/2 inch you're also gonna want to swap the rear trailing arm while you're at it.

@Basement Tempting but I'll have to see, will PM you.
@Safety Nice, was it brown interior also? My decal has seen better days, darn kids keyed it while it was parked when my dad drove it.
@Bert Yes I'm actually in the works of buying a runing driving 2 door 5 speed for cheap, never thought of it until I learned it here to switch it.
@Ideal Alright, once I get access to a shop you will probably hear from me. If your ever up north, have to stop by!
