  • Newbie from LI saying Hi!

Hi, I just signed up today. I don't currently have a Festiva but am thinking about getting in the game. Its great to see the enthusiasm all you guys have for these great little American (Mexican?) made cars. My current "toy" is a Cutlass convertible with a big block & a posi but with gas prices these days WHAT FUN IS THAT!?!
    Viva de Festiva!!!!

Welcome aboard! And actually their not American or Mexican. Their Korean built (KIA) , Japanese designed ( Mazda), & American badged (Ford).
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

Newbie here too. You guys seem like a fun bunch. Im also in the market for a Festiva. The BP conversion looks interesting.

Looks like alot of you guys have big block muscle cars on the side. But exactly like the other poster said, feeding that old dinosaur with gas is no fun. With a Festiva, you have the best of both worlds.

Last time I had my car out I threw down with a guy in a Focus. While I was laying posi stripes and sliding all over the place he was pulling away from me slow & steady. That guy laughed all the way to the bank. I used to think cars like mine were cool but i think I'm seeing the light. I could sell my car, build myself a nice Festiva and have some money left over. Were these cars ever built with T-Tops?:sign7:

I dont believe they came with t-tops, but the European version came fun-topped as an option (i think). And sunroofs were there as well.

Anyhow, new guy, welcome to the cornucopia of Festiva knowledge and know-how.

              Welcome to the site guys.

I know what you mean by old school muscle cars. Cool as can be, but these days 15 MPG isn't. As far as I know, no T tops, but there are sun roofs and "FunTops" (full canvas roof).

Be warned, these little things are as addictive as crack (and there is no rehab). Also, all of your friends will think you have lost your mind.

New here too. Sometimes the 175 hp of my 4 banger Altima feels like too much so I want to get a Festiva and slowly and surely build it up to 175. I figure that this way, the power won't catch me by surprise. I'm feeling the crack thing already.

175 too much for an Altima!? not possible. try 260/260 in a cobalt... the chassis is so well worked out from the factory that another 100hp would make it feel right (not that 260 is anything to sneeze at).

oh and welcome! please take some time and fill out your user info and location, in case you need some personal attention, a local member can come and help.

Hmmm... I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and guess its a "Cutlass convertible with a big block & a posi" From his first post But I too would like to see pics of it.

That is a car I will own one day, probably a early 70s 442, white on white on white if I can find one. Old guy at church had one, and it was gorgeous!

BP with a turbo is the way to go. You will soon forget about your Big Gas Guzzling cubic inches and be faster then any Muscle car ever was. Festiva + BP + T = KICK AZZ
