Stick shift isn't always safe. I know a guy who was towing an S10 and it went into a low gear at 70 mph. It said his towing truck just all of sudden downshift like he driving into a really strong head wind going up a steep incline. Ended up blowing up the S10 motor. He had been towing the truck all over the place for years and never had a problem. The Festiva Store

I can see some shifter mechanisms being so loose and easy that they could be bumped into gear in the wrong circumstances. Sounds like this happened above. I'd want some kind of shift gate lockout to use just in case.

My 5th car was an AMX, 3rd and 4th were Baja's. 7th was a super beetle. First two were galaxi
500 390 xl's, the AMX was by far the most reliable, Super Beetle next. Love those old AMC's!!Last edited by Movin; 03-20-2012, 01:14 AM.Reflex paint by Langeman...Lifted...Tow Rig

Bust, did you know the Gremlin prototype was kind of weird, like an Aztek?
I hope nobody does this to their Festiva!
I hope neander gives me the oldest award.Last edited by bravekozak; 02-26-2014, 05:49 PM.
