It is. I have a bad feeling that I'm going to get a ticket.

I also have a friend that might be getting one soon, she has been borrowing her aunts RHD Subaru Legacy for awhile but someone she knows is selling an eagle cheap so she might get it instead.

Any quirks to look out for (Dad mentioned having to put a lot of drive shafts in when he ran wrecker), and what mileage can i reasonably expect from one (6Cyl Auto)

Here is the one i am looking at

That one appears to be in decent shape. That's a 4.2L not a 4.0L Like any almost 30 year old car, there will probably be issues. The biggest problem is the miles of vacuum lines under the hood. Many people remove the Carter BBD carb and install a Motorcraft 2150 and bypass the ECM. Also the plastic valve covers are prone to leaking. Mileage varies for different people but typically you could expect mid to upper teens. Some say they get mid 20's, but that is few and far between. I never heard of any drive shaft problems. Some of the early models were know to snap axle shafts. They have two piece rear axle shafts and the story is that a guy working on the line was over torquing them. Even though they are a big six they aren't that quick. Check out http://forums.amceaglenest.com/ for any question yo may have.

The only problem we had with either of our Eagles was the vacuum-controlled 4WD systems, and I literally snapped a set of spider gears in a 4dr Eagle with a 4kRPM clutch dump on loose gravel. They were probably weak anyway, or at least I'd hope.
