I work 12's (with 13-14 hr days at least once a week) for just shy of 300 days a year. Add in 35minute drive one way every day, and yea...

If your talking about stints, I've done a couple 36 hour days, and had weeks with 90some hours on the check stub....that stuff is for the birds.

I'm a postal clerk, so summer months are usually less busy, but I still average 5 to 8 hours over time a week. Once November and December hits, the madness of Christmas comes and I might average 54 or so hours a week. Any thing over 10 hours a day and we get double time, or penalty overtime, which is awesome.

it is illegal for them not to pay overtime unless you are on salary. You could add it all up and make them pay...retro....if you desired. Just saying.

My Friend was in a similar situation working houirly at a very nice very high dollar gourmet kitchen as a dishwasher. He didn't get his paid breaks very often but he didn't complan because the Chef would make them dinner specially. it was a good deal for him

Way back, in Daytona Beach, Spring Break of 89, I worked for a few weeks on practically no sleep, Mountain Dew, and Tootsie Rolls.

Winter of 04 I spent about a month doing 90+ hours a week rescuing a failing Papa John's in Savannah GA.

I work 39.5 hours at PJ's now, and about 20 a week on cars on the side.

I worked seasonal at a farming co-op delivering feritlizer to crop dusters, lowest week i had was 58hrs, averaged in the mid 60s for the most part. But some of the guys there worked upper 80s for about 4 months straight.
Some guys had checks of over $1k a week at $8.75/hr (not smart to do when your job consists of driving 50k pound trucks around)
