thats not the point. after talking with others im not the only one who has had these shipping issues? so why hasnt he posted buyer beware for this over seas shipping if he knows what can happen? he also didnt once offer to help, and i didnt buy a broke chin? i bought one that was supposed to be bolt on and go. if the box would have been simply filled with packing peanuts i bet that chin would have been okay and i told him that i mean he needs to post that he has had these shipping issues. i wouldnt have minded paying an extra 20 buck to help pack it better and pay a bit extra for shipping weight.

and to answer your question karl, he told me that he uses a company that gives a really good deal on shipping but has problems like this, and obviously they dont have any kind of insurance. he said to ship it any other way would cost 3 times as much.

It would be a kind gesture and good PR to send him another one. A fiberglass item like that should be wrapped in bubble wrap with a piece of wood to further reinforce the fiberglass

My greatest concern at this point is how incredibly thin the lip is. If it hadn't broken during shipping, even a rogue squirrel or straddled roadkill would have taken that thing out. Jake, here's my suggestion: have it repaired with a kevlar strip to give it a chance.

i have pm'd him many times about this like for him to just offer a warning of what may happen to overseas shipment, its just upsetting that he didnt offer a lick of help saying just fix it yourself? and yes im going to have to figure something out for strength!

I've read all the comments here, and so far I haven't seen a single mention of Jake insuring the item. Just complaints about Ernst. I can't fully fault the shipper if the buyer didn't insure the item. Just my 2 pennies.

and i had no idea i would even have to worry about there being any damage done? there was no previous warning by him at all..

                    Tough break...literally!

I understand both sides of it. Can't really fault ERNST...he sells cheap kits shipped at cheap prices, but I agree he's in the wrong for not even considering a partial reimbursement or shipping you a new one. It's just good PR to take care of your customers when something like this happens. Now people are going to be skeptical about purchasing from him. He's potentially losing future US business just cause he's faulted to even think about helping you. Shrugging your shoulders and saying sorry just doesn't cut it if you asked me.

I know USPS will NOT offer insurance for items shipped overseas. The seller is at fault for not insuring the item, how is Jake supposed to ask for insurance when Ernst is at the post office? This is my biggest concern when I buy and sell, I have been refunded, fully and partially refunded other people when the item(s) don't arrive intact. When you buy something from an online store, if its damaged in transit the store is responsible for replacing or fixing the item. This is just stupid, its common sense.

^ granted half the online stores have you pay return shipping, so your out a little more cash than you intended, but it's not a total loss.

again thank you zoom. if he would have even just offered a discount i would have been happy about that and this would have never got posted. i shouldnt have to lose sleep at night wondering if the item ive purchased is going to show up intact or if im just getting screwed out of $160.
