I'd be out 160$, I don't know nor do I want to learn anything about fiberglass, paint, or bodywork other than how to pop a dent. If I did, Earnst wouldn't be one of few in this world selling Festiva bodykits.

I bought a front chin for the GTX bumper set from Junspeed. It too came in pieces, however I was refunded 1/2 the purchase price so that I could have it repaired.

I guess when I purchased my items from Ernst, they were packed well, and arrived well.

They also arrived in 5 days shipped via USPS. In my personal opinion I can't fault Ernst, and don't understand why a disclaimer is needed. If you purchased it and the thought "Hmm this is coming from far away it might break" didn't cross your mind, how would him saying "Hey this stuff might break in shipping." help.

This is our only option when it comes to aftermarket parts not counting used stuff for exterior since FMS quit. I for one will continue to do buisness with both Ernst and Jun.

Postmen aren't what they used to be.

This is why when drafting a contract for a business, a good lawyer will always specify who bears the risk of loss in transit. The terms "from OUR bay" and "to YOUR bay" are used to indicate who bears that risk.

Unfortunately this sounds like a small operation and this guy did not consider this. Really, if he had just put a disclaimer up that said "insurance is not available on international shipments, we do our best to ship and pack our products well but we cannot control how they are handled in transit and therefore cannot reimburse you for any damaged caused in transit," I'd feel a lot better about it. since he didn't do that, I think its fair to err on the side of the consumer and say he should offer to replace it. Personally, I've shipped things overseas and received things overseas and I've not had problems insuring it, so I'm not sure why its unavailable.

Quit crying. If you spent as much time doing research as you did whining you would have learned to fix it already.

It's not Ernst's fault that it broke in transit, the only way one can try to prevent this is by good packing, but even then things can still happen. I think that if it was packet poorly you should receive a refund in order to get it fixed and still have the same amount of money used.

I think the biggest thing to take from this thread is NOT "don't buy from Ernst" BUT be aware that "items may come damaged, and there is no insurance for damaged goods"

So now everyone knows! You take a risk and that is that. I'd be willing to bet Ernst would take more money to pack better.

Sorry for your luck! Thanks for letting everyone know.
