I'm still lurking...and routing for you Jake.

I buy and sell many things through eBay and forums like these. When I package an item I make sure it's in a way that it can't be damaged in transit. I understand it's coming a long way, but you got to stand behind your product. I recently bought a Speedo off eBay and the item showed up broken. I suspect it was that way before shipping as it looked like the hole cluster was ripped out of the dash without removing plugs and speedo cable. Anyway...it was my fault for purchasing it without seeing the back side...I started a dispute with eBay though and the seller at least gave me a partial refund and let me keep the item.

Wait about 3 more years. Obama will probably offer free shipping insurance from the government, just like health insurance!

Ive dealt with shipping, as a business, for almost 25 years. Poo happens, and things get broke...with or without insurance. The best scenario is for stuff to not get broke in the first place. And the best way to insure that is by proper packaging. Depending on the item and shipping method, you need to wrap the ever-loving crap out of things and use the sturdiest containers that are feasible. If it can survive being shot out of a cannon, it might stand a chance....unless its over 80 Lbs and shipping UPS. Then, it's lucky if it shows up in less than 3 different destinations simultaneously, LOL. Many times the shipping company will deny a claim on the basis of "insufficient packaging". I cant remember 1 successful damage claim I've had against UPS in 25 years and hundreds of damaged deliveries. Sounds like Ernst is on the right track by improving his packaging. I would rather spend a few bucks more for better packaging to start with.

i'm very sorry for what happened and i do not intend to arrived it in that way.
i hope this ends all of the quotes here. please lock this after i am done with this message.
ernst thank you for the apology. as i said in my first quote its not bash anyone here, i just wanted to state facts of what happened to my shipment and what ernst had done when i had contacted him about it and some of you guys are taking this way out of context. i believe business, hobby or what have you this is bad business i have no idea how to fix this thing and make it look good at all? i understand it is a simple repair but i cant straighten a panel to save my life and that the gods honest truth. all of these people are taking it that i am whining on here and im simply defending my first few words that started this whole thread i just want other people in the states to know what the possibilities are if they buy off of this guy. this whole "buyer beware" thing is absolutely BS in my opinion, there is no warnings on his posts that say anything about possible shipping damage and you being out money to fix your product, so why should i have to lose sleep wondering if my package that i had bought is going to arrive in one piece when i get it? you shouldnt at all. these guys are starting to act idiotic about it calling names and all kinds of stuff, hell this thread is now 8 pages long. i said i still support him and what he does because were all on here for a reason, WE HAVE A PASSION FOR THESE CARS!!! i mean i love these cars and i know most you guys do as well and you dont want to see a business deal go bad be the reason that he wont ship overseas anymore and i apologize but with a "sorry about your luck" response i think other people need to know what happens when they spend their hard earned money on these parts. i believe my argument is justified. and finally for you oh so gracious guys who offered the money thanks but thats not at all what this is about. and i didnt offend any of you directly in anyway and i would appreciate the same respect. i'm not whining, simply trying to defend the reason why this post started. if he would have offered any kind of assistance to help i mean anything, 10 dollars refund, a discount on my next order ect, you wouldnt have heard a word from me about this because he at least made an attempt to make it right. in this case as we can see he did absolutely nothing but defend himself(which i wasnt even saying he had anything to do with it because we obviously knew shipping was what did the chin in). i apologize to anyone who is offended by this thread its intention was to educate future purchasers of these risks that are taken and what is done in response.

-thank you to all of my supporters who saw that all i was trying to do was get the info out there so other folks know what to expect!

actually it's more hard selling my fiber stuffs abroad than sell it in ours. here, i don't have to think of the packaging. when someone bought, order stuffs from me, wait for a few days then install. with abroad, i still have to find time doing the packing. i pack my stuffs myself. i have other stuffs to do. but if someone bought abroad,ok, we sell. just give me time to prepare for it. i have US clients w/ same Jake had but understand and its just a piece of cake for them, they'll just repair it. they just advised me what happened. that incident alarmed me and just improved my packing.

and i understand this. these other people have the know how and resources to fix it making it look like nothing even happened which is totally fine. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS COMMUNITY APPRECIATES WHAT YOU ACTUALLY DO FOR US!! we wouldnt have the stuff we wanted if it werent for you, i know that you know that, hell we all know that. THANK YOU!! i just hate how i feel like i was left to dry, and it was inferred that i should have know about these shipping issues.? i had no idea id have to worry about anything, honestly thought nothing of it. like my first words said, this wasnt to bash you or you product because i understand that yess its light thin and somewhat brittle i had that understanding but a warning would have been nice. and failed attempts at any type of reimbursement lead me to want to make sure people knew what they are getting into...

so one transaction goes bad and you cant offer assistance of any kind but telling me its an easy fix? its just upsetting to me really.

never expected too that you will make a thread regarding me and my stuff.

i looked like a scam seller here all in capslock.

alls im saying is it was bad business the way you handled it. first by not offering any type of warning about these risks just isnt fair and second esp if youre not going to do anything but offer advice wen something like this happens.
