    MOZDA BEGINS-

Started to tinker today. Removed inner guard on drivers side and beat out most of the dent.
    Sanded surface rust off.
Gave it a thorough clean in and out.
Now I can get a good look at what I'm working with.

    -Paint is in shocking condition.
-Exhaust rattles a bit, and has a couple of holes. Need to tape holes up to pass registration. After that I can get rid of the exhaust altogether.
-Have purchased aspire suspension and brake system. Will be picking itall up in 3 weeks.
-suspension is a bit lob sided, but that will be history soon.

Took it to get checked for registration on Christmas Eve.
Dumb move. Got knocked back because the valve cover is leaking oil.

Pressure washed engine bay and under car.

Will try again tomorrow with a mechanic that's a bit more cooperative

Here's some photos of the guard

    Drivers side guard before

After (only took me 15 minutes to get it to where it is)

      MOZDA BEGINS-

      Went for registration inspection again.
      Got defected on 3 things.

      Oil leak from motor.
      Leak from cv joint.
      And leaking exhaust.

I have 14 days to make good and retest.

I think I'll just degrease the crap out of the engine and gearbox and do some patch work on the exhaust.

Tried pleading with the mechanic as motor, gearbox, and exhaust will be coming out soon
      Didn't work

Should have offered him $100 to look the other way.

I can't bribe... Not in my nature.

When your swap is completed, add the XR2 after the 121.

will look different add a bit of street cred for people who know what you've done.

also for 121 restorers these should be still available. these are correst for the 121DA since they were used on other N.American mazdas. the chrome nameplate is for the hatch. the white/chrome will fit the early black grille or the later painted grille.
