Both of my 2drs 95 & 97 have the hinged lower cushion. Thanks to ZOOM ZOOM for making me aware of these feature! Now I can pile even more tools in there. Sometimes I have to carry my 25 gal compressor with me.This is def gonna make it a little easier.

I looked at it today. Its in semi-decent shape. It ran smoothly, and no check engine lights. New clutch (needs adjustment), and a slight grinding form one of the front brakes. The AC also needs a charge. The only thing that really concerned me is that the speedometer, and odometer didnt work, so I dont know how many miles it actually has.

Ill probably still do the $1300 for it.

The cables can get noisy so they may have disconnected it at the firewall. Its a two piece system, you can pull them out and lube them and it helps. Was the grinding only when the pedal was applied? How was the rust like brake lines & rear quarters? Did you snap any pics?

It was more of a rubbing sound, but not like wheel bearings. I dont know how to put it in to words. And it went away when the pedal was pressed.

Ill be honest, I didnt do much of a rust inspection. Im from Florida, so we dont have a rust problem.

It possible the speedo cable was disconnected. The car was used as a tow-behind for an RV at one point.

          No pictures either.

Sounds like something new pads & rotors will cure then.

Yea its easy to disconnect the speedo, check it out and if you need a new speedo they're pretty easy to get and install. I might have one or two laying around still.

Just for the fact that it was a tow behind vehicle, and unknown miles, I wouldn't pay more than 8-900$ for it. It's an aspire, they stopped making them in 97, not even festivas are worth that much. In my opinion. But if I really liked the car who knows, definately talk them down as low as you can!!!

Yeah, thats why its not sitting in front of my house. Sadly he wont budge.

There really isn't much in my area for cheaper compact cars. I like it, and it would be the perfect car for what I need. Im just wary about potential super high miles.

                Ugh...

                  Re: Quick question about Aspires.

                  You could F2T it since it's OBD2.

In a two door Aspire the seats fold down, then forward - and you can use the lug wrench (14mm) to remove the two nuts and the two bolts that hold it all in place, and remove the seat all together, which leaves a LOT of cargo space. I removed the backseats in all three of my Aspires cause my (2) 16 year olds don't need to carry more than one friend around at a time, and neither do I . . .
