I can't say the word here in open forum, but I have this phrase I say when pulling my 4X8 trailer with over a 1000 pounds of steel in it, and bank a youie in a 2 lane road. It starts with an f though, and ends with "your truck, I got a 30MPG half ton hauler right here, like to see YOUR truck do that."

Re: what have you hauled with your Festiva?

Milton, I have a how-to for the Curt hitch in the custom exterior thread. You can still find 'em online. If you have the necessary tools, it will take you about a day.

I've always wanted to put a tow hitch on my Festiva, but I have a full size truck, so I've never been motivated to do so.
I also don't have a welder or fab skills. Or anything to tow really... I don't own trailers. All I have is a tow bar.
Here is a pic of my truck camping a tank of fuel from anywhere, have the other tank to get back to a town and jerry cans to hunt with in the Quads. My festy hauls the same stuff out there, doesn't have to return to town for fuel every other day and now I find it gets better mileage hunting than my Quad! Well, the big one anyway. My truck and my Suburban just sit most all the time. When I recently moved I made one trip with the truck and one of the trailers, all the other trips were done towing 3 different trailers of mine behind the festy. My scrap metal trailer and my scrap aluminum trailer were not used and I don't have pics of them but Festies and trailers, odd as it may sound really work well together. I have been towing with the Festy long before I found this site but I still keep finding amazing ways this little car out works my truck!

Here's a pretty early pic of my setup. That was about 220 papers. You could easily fit 1,000 papers of a weekday size and probably up to half that of a bigger sunday paper.

                      I kinda miss delivering.

I see quite a bit of rust. I'd worry about the tongue weight being enough to break rear axle mounts.
