I' have an EGO problem. While flushing my cooling system with dishwasher soap, I had it up on stands running @~ 2200 for a an hour, MIL came on, pulled code 15. I have an EGO problem. back probed the connector -.85V. I'm guessing it is a result of a recent head job that led to an antifreeze contamination. Either way I'm buying a new O2. Anybody out there ever successfully clean an ego? Like spray it w/ brake clean then bake in the oven @ 400 for an hour ... anything? Yeah I thought not. Zirconimum Dioxide must be pretty delicate stuff. Where can I find the part number for my '93?

Check rock auto.com and you can find the part number for replacement o2 sensors.Jerry

Get the Denso sensor, everyone here I believe agrees that it is the best one for the B-Series motors. Including the B3.1991 Ford Festiva BP (Full Aspire/Rio Swap) (337k Miles) (Around 95k Engine)

New Bosch O2 $14 AZone. Working just fine. Not sure what happened but now it is pegged @ .85~.89V, blowing black. Low idle speed, low VAC @ 13"Hg. Havent a clue what is going on. Gonna try a couple of Jager Bombs and look at it again.'88 LX (VIN#30) one of the first Built 12/86

warning, bosch o2 sensors are JUNK, and NOT recomended for J-pan cars. as stated earlier in the thread. given the information that you've exuded in other threads, one could assume that you'd know that already, but i guess not.Trees aren't kind to me...

I would quickly suspect the Bosch o2, except that I am getting my high o2 readings in open loop, even with the sensor disconected. I did see a post that said Denso only, but AZone only had Bosch, so I jumped on it for cheap. With the Bosch sensor the car ran marvelously for several 85 mile round trips into the Valley. Now my headache is keeping the o2 from working. the car is in open loop dumping massive amounts of fuel running rough with black exhaust. I'll keep looking for a denso just because you guys said so. All an o2 has to do is generate .1V to .9V based on oxygen content in the exhaust flow after heating to ~1400ºF. My exhaust mfld is not making that much heat. You know we can kill an o2 by what we make it sniff? Wrong silicone sealer on the pan gasket = dead o2. Antifreze down the header = same ..... Thanks for watching out for me, there is alot I don't know that you have already BTDT. So I look to your experience as a guide in my decisions. The Denso/Bosch thing was a moment of weakness. it's all good, though i would start looking at your ECT sensor... if it reads incorrectly, the PCM will never go to closed loop and it WILL cause a rich condition.
you are correct in stating that the o2 swings from .1-.9, BUT actually the denso has a slightly higher center and can swing as high as 1.1v...
just saying that not all o2s are created the same.Trees aren't kind to me...
