I'm looking at my rebuild options for the b3. I saw rock auto had a full kit for $500.
What kind of prices have you guys found and where?

I used Rock Auto's "house brand" ( DNJ) parts for my B6 rebuild. Cheapest prices I could find anywhere, and the quality of the parts was more than acceptable. IIRC, new pistons, rings, bearings, valve guides and a gasket set was like $300 to $400 total. I probably have around $800 in the complete rebuild including cam, oil pump, water pump and machine work. It's all the little crap like cans of spray degreaser, RTV, etc. that adds up fast. I bet I made 2 trips to Auto Zone for odds & ends every day I worked on it....and it's usually at least $25 every time I walk in that place.
