Thanks Festyboy. I was worried that they would open during a roll if the door popped open. Smart computer programmer. I personally do not have that issue. I only believe in using manual belts. No computer stuff for me. I removed the motors, cut the tracks with a hacksaw and installed the belts from my 89.

The autobelt system is 100% electromechanical. No computer voodoo there. That I'm absolutely sure of.

officer, it is not your time. You have some other purpose in your life that must be fulfilled. Good luck.

One of those two poor Chinese girls at the San Fransisco jet crash got run over by the emergency response vehicle. Even if she had survived the crash, her time was up.

"Your time, her time". Comforting theory that there is some plan to all this. IMO it's more realistic to say it's luck, good or bad.

To some degree we can influence outcomes by doing little things like buckling up, or not. If we engage in enough risky behavior over a long enough time, eventually our luck will run out. And that behavior is our choice to make.

Stuff happens. I rolled a van over into a 8-9ft deep creek bed about a year ago at about 45-50mph. I was buckled and had I been thrown because I wasn't I'd surely have died or been very badly messed up. Landed a few feet from a bunch of cut off trees sticking up, on the driver's side of the van. Unbuckled and crawled out of the passenger door and stood on the side of it. It was like a really crazy dream.

              Luck of the draw, IMO.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

My Step dad had compressed vertebrate and he had a solid back brace on for almost a year.

Glad you're alive, by Plan or by luck!

Now I'm thinking, "definitely get a roll bar" to go with newly rewebbed seat belts (or new racing harnesses).

I pulled all of it already. The car was a shell when scrapped it.
