Did you take a look at the one I was looking at? red with 5 spd (only a 4 dr)Originally posted by TorqueEffect View PostYeah I wouldn't mind owning a Aspire, but like previously mentioned, I find nothing but pink and purple 4 doors. If I was to have one it would have to be Dark blue or red 2 door with a 5 speed. I don't drive slushboxes unless I have to.

Mine just rolled 266K so I guess she has lots of life leftOriginally posted by scitzz View PostIf you beat it like a redheaded step child, just barely know what you are doing with mechanical repair, hodge podge any fix that will get you by and keep her running, and stay one step ahead of the rust, just like I have?

Nawp, I have had more than a couple odometers. I drive pizza with it, since I bought it in March 93. It had a 4year, 50,000 mile warranty, I unplugged the speedo cable with 49,976 miles on it after 9 months. I easily remember that number, because when I plugged it back in 3 years later, the speedo wouldn't work. About 3 or 4 years after THAT, I finally replaced the instrument cluster, and had a working speedo. I estimate it at 50K a year for every year I kept her on the road, minus the 4 years I took her off the road to give her a rest, and drove 2 escorts, and a dodge van literally to death. Also, since my B6 swap last September, to this September, according to my odometer, unadjusted for aspire swap, I have only driven 35K. Mainly because I missed a few months at work from a work injury during our absolute busiest season, and went back part time, from 40 hours a week to 10 hours a week.Originally posted by Charlie1717 View PostSeriously!?? If I am going up in weight significantly like with Aspire, I'd rather have carb 323 or if newer then a Protege. I like the B3/B6 and that they are durable and easy to work on. Otherwise, meh far as styling. I still dont see why the carb 323s arent lot more popular. Very practical car, not the mileage of a Festy, but not that bad, and they do have more space. And they are usually very cheap when you find them. Nobody appreciates them. CAr that gets even "good enough" mileage and engine lasts forever and price is super cheap, thats the kind car I go for. Festies were like that way back when I bought mine, nobody wanted them. Neither Aspires nor Festies are that cheap around here now, unless they are basket case. People are mesmerized by the promised fuel economy.

^^ There never were carb 323s in the USA. EFI since 1986. Maybe you're thinking of the GLC that preceded it; it was carbed.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods

No GLCs never had the B6 engine, they had a different design 1.5L engine known as the E5. But my brain was thinking 323 with SOHC B6 and said carb B6. Doesnt help that I have a carb B6 (from a Japan market 323) in my Festie.Originally posted by TominMO View Post^^ There never were carb 323s in the USA. EFI since 1986. Sharp looking car for sure- I dont think there is a "E" series block, but rather a "B" series engine. The E,F & G trannys will fit the B3,B6 & B8/BP.
