I was very apprehensive about going all the way to Texas to get a car! I went back and forth on it for a while. I even waited a week, and thought if it was still around I might go get it, and maybe get the price down. Well, it was still available......!!!!
hmmmmmm Should I get it?! My gal couldnt go. Called my son Miles, asked if he wanted to do it, and get a free ride to Texas, though, it was a quick one.
He said, Heck yeah!!! So it was on!
I screwed up and didnt make it to the bank on friday, closed earlier than I thought, so had to wait till Sat morning to leave, and hence the quick turn around.
Would have liked to spent SOME time there and have a meal, or something.
But, now i'm glad I went. My son and I had a great time, seen a few cool sites, and got to drive, legally, at 75 MPH!!!
.... and I now have a very cool car.
Ah, yes, the fabled BLACK festiva! I have never seen one, only heard of them, and I think I may have seen a pic of one, one time, but now ......
....I know they do exist!!!!! I have one!!! Mwahahhahhahha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :highly_amused:

Worked on the Aspire engine for the GL this weekend. Pulled old festy b3 and cleaned and painted Aspire block, and put seals in it.
When I went to pull the Asprie engine crank seal, I noticed the old seal would spin in the bore! What?! I could spin the seal with my finger. Removed it and checked OD with a caliper and the OD of old seal was .020 smaller than the new seal I got.
No wonder the seal spun so easy. It had to be blowing oil out of the crank seal! There was sealant spread all around in there as if the guy I bought it from had tried to stop the seal leak with sealant! :highly_amused: Like that was gonna work!
New seal went in nice and tight.
Where did he get that old seal. It wasnt the right size!
Hoping to get this all together before it gets cold! Been in the 40's here at night and 60's in the day!

Wait until Saturday Dan.. All the warm air from the fans yelling for the Cards up the road from you should heat up the air a bit.
Hope all goes well with your new engine. I'll be back in St. Louis early next Summer and I expect to see it in tip-top condition.
