Paints the best way to go. But make sure you use plastic paint. Or a good paint and do it right. I've had problems in the past with paint flaking off those panels even when they're prep'd properly.

        1. Remove the panels.

        2. Done.

Try it. There were black scuff marks all over those map pockets.
Magic Erasers are cheap. Just make sure you wet them a little first.

Mine are real sun rotted too. Anything that touches them scratches them up.... sucks.

Fusion paint works good. That's what I used on mine.

Hmm, there seems to be some difference between the 88-89 model yrs and 90-93 model yrs .....

Never seen it disscussed much here, but a few things i've noticed is, the 88-89 models, have a few things that seem to hold up better than the 90-93 yrs.

The seats last longer on the 88-89's and it looks as though the panels mentioned above seem to fair better also!

My 88 has seats that are in great shape, and most 90 and later ones i've seen in JY's are all tore up.
The panels in the 88 are in great shape, but in the 92 GL I just got, the panels are cracked and chipped.

I'd say look for 88-89 panels at JY's and install them into your Festy.

If you paint the cracked and chipped panels, you can still see where the cracks and chips are. Maybe fill with some kinda hardening resin, and then paint?
