I've got the 9786 wires on my Aspire; I just don't use the coil wire/I have a spare for the Festy w/gen2 B6. Which also uses the same kit.

so you're saying that the 9786 kit comes with 5 wires and is designated for a 4 wire engine? sounds either like a bonus or an error on the manufacure's part.

It is ok to have the VAM pointed downwards like that? I always thought they gotta be oriented level so the door doesnt slip with gravity. I know vacuum will do its thing but if Mr Vam is not healthy it would aggravate the condition.

When I swapped engines I chopped, drilled, and rewelded the bracket that held the coil and icm to relocate everything lower and a little further back in the strut tower corner..it made for a LOT cleaner look and I can now fabricate a strut tower brace without having to worry about junk in the way...so I just want to measure it to be sure it will work, probably will but better safe than sorry...luckily for me one of this sites members provided a honda alternative with longer wires that will work if the 9786 don't.

It's dark, its late, I'm at work, but I'm gonna go measure that wire and get it over with, I just switched to 12 hour shifts so I don't have much spare time again.

Dan those red wires are boss but they're twice the price lol, not sure I can justify paying that much right now Haha..

/e, the wire only needs to be about 12", so I think the 9786 set will work, thanks for everyone's help!

NGK part # 8006 on Rockauto.com. Just do a part # search(on rockauto) and you'll find them. $8.48 before shipping. I'll gladly cut a boot off.

My VAM works fine like it is so far. It also worked fine with it pointed with the intake tube end tilted down as the PO had it set up.

Cool. The neon srt-4 intake pipe fits with near no modification but puts the vam downwards just like that. stick an ebay adapter on it and call it a day. No more hardened split oily blowby junk on top of valve cover for me!
