why? Kia sephia has different splines but then you would have to find axles that fit..

There's enough options out there for the stock splines that changing the spline count would most likely only be a disadvantage

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

basicaly you need to determine if you can get bearings to accept the new hub or have the new hub machined to match a combo that fits inside the knuckle and has a bigger ID than stock (SKF has a catalogue on PDF for download). BR11 is the factory bearing if you need to get raw dimentions.

the big question here is which trans are you trying to install? if it's the GLH, we've discussed this and you know it's not easily feasible given it's size, mounting and linkage.

Not really easy, even if there's enough meat to do it. Broaching would be one way to do it, but broaches are $$$

You could ask around a few machine shops if they'll cut internal splines, but it's still gonna be costly. Your best be is going to be swapping the whole knuckle from the other vehicle, and modifying the strut/balljoint/tierod etc to accommodate it

Damkid can change your secret transaxle into a g series that would go into a stock festiva hub.

You laugh...but a bellhousing adapter for a non mazda engine would cost less than two hubs and two axles...

I've thought about this, could you make a hybrid axle? Use the outer joint of the Festiva/Aspire/Rio and the inner joint of ?/?/? and have the shaft between made the correct length with the correct splines on each end. I'd think a shop that cuts and resplines axles could do this.

No, that particular route been explored plenty of times before but it's not really an economical route. Custom cut chromoly shafts are not cheap.

One of the guys on club pro took the inner and outer halves of the axles he needed. Then had them sleeved and welded to make the axle he needed for his kl swap in his bf. IIRC it held up fine until he could afford to have a custom one made.
