Why do older carbureted Festivas get better fuel economy than fuel-injected ones?

    no one mentioned that the BIG reason that the carb festys do so well is because that when you're not under power, the engine is breathing though a hole the size of a quarter...
    Trees aren't kind to me...

    currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
    94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

      I only install cold air intakes because the assemblies are smaller than stock so to service the car is less things to take apart. The carb festivas on paper were 50 to 100 pounds lighter than fuel injection. If you spend more time city driving that is a bigger chunk of the economy right there.


      To put on tinfoil hat...if the car has the same emissions but gets 2mpg worse, thats more gasoline tax revenue.
