I don't know about that. I'll ask if it gets that far and a group buy is in order.

Let me know when the first sets are available and I can test the carbon content.
Or see if they know what the Carbon content is already, want no less than 3%, more is better, up to about 5-6%.
That place wanted $20 a set if I bought 15 sets, and it didn't get any cheaper for more ordered, so I gave up on that one.
I'll be sure to find out somehow if I have to send you a chunk of one.

Got a price for a 4mm thick sheet?
Bet its not as "reasonable" as even EVA!

$10 a set for, less than great longevity isn't too bad.
Its a nice start, and we can continue to refine the material.
Most sheet goods come in 4'x8' sheets, can get more than a few sets out without breaking the bank.
Even if these are not the best performance material they are way better than some of the gaskets I know that are out there.
Which let water into the cab and rust out the spare tire well and rear passenger floor/carpet.

Got a response today. Material is Closed Cell Blended Black Foam Med Density (Blended Buna/Neoprene/EPDM). Not sure of exact carbon content, but I'm told this is a common material that gets used a lot for gaskets like this.

Pu241, if you want I can cut off a piece that's not integral to sealing and mail it to you if you want, if we end up going with this company.

So it's official. I have the first set(actually 2nd set, cause these aren't the ones I designed) on my car now, and I sent an email asking about a bulk order discount. They are AWESOME! Pics for drools. I'll try to get exact pics before I post the group buy thread.

                But meantime.

Also they are more black than they look in that pic.

How well do they fit on the tail lights?

They should be absolutely perfect. I used a scan of an old gasket to get a basic shape, and then spaced the holes via cad program by measuring the distance between the studs on the light in real life and then using the measurements instead of my reference image to space them.
