Black - Radiant Cooling Efficiency Boost

I've seen the science explained, but here is a great vid by Marty and Moog that shows a nice difference in a radiator's(an intercooler is just an intake air radiator) efficiency just based on it being black vs raw metal.

I wonder if this would work for regular radiators as well?

If it did, it would probably work best to keep the coolant from heating up as fast when idling and the fan off.

Yes it would. Ever notice how nearly all OEM rads are black? There's a reason.

I wonder about a/c condensers too. Probably would help a hell of allot on out festys at a stop light for us without a condenser fan.

It should be a universal thing. I'm even thinking about yanking the decent sized heatsink on my little HTPC out and spraying it and seeing if it keeps decent temps fanless now. The little Celeron 1037u is a 15w TDP unit, so it's tempting. It's got a TINY little 30mm or something fan on it, but they left the heatsink bare alloy instead of painting it, so it might not even need the fan.
