  • Painting calipers.

Quick question about brake caliper paint.
When the boiling temperature of DOT3 brake fluid is 400° dry, why is all caliper paint rated for 1000°?

It seems to me that since ive had my fluid in there for a while it may be slightly wet (if that's the appropriate term) bringing the boiling temp down to say 350. Wouldn't I have brakes/have weak brakes after this point?

just another marketing gimmick. like heavy duty this, premium that, for professional use only blah, blah. it doesn't even register anymore. maybe subliminally. i've had great lasting results with a regular name brand gloss spray which will give you a lot more color options. but that is only after removing the caliper, disassembling as much as practical, thoroughly cleaning with a wire wheel and lacquer thinner and then prime and 2 or 3 coats of color. now excuse me while i try out my Premium HD Professional Use Condoms. XXL of course!

Mine were painted a nice red, but quickly became the color of brake dust. So have fun washing your calipers allot if you want them to stay nice and shiny. lol

Or Dont go flashy. What now you have red brake drums as well? Just go Black. Looks good no washing all done.

                    Yes, I actually do. lol

They are actually still red, while my brake calipers look like they never have been painted. lol
