New to Festiva's

I've noticed that on my dads. Any chance you know why that is?
Is it the heat that melts them towards the water pump in the first
place or is it just aftermarket water pumps or something? Mine's not
doing it yet, but I'd prefer it stay as sealed as possible...whereas Dad
doesnt care haha

Just heat causes it. Most people run with a trimmed one or none at all

I personally would have just ordered the Luk or Exedy clutch kit, instead of just the bearings. Since the clutch kits comes with those bearing, and I mean you are tearing it down to replace those bits anyway, might as well replace the clutch and pressure plate while you are in there, and chances are it is still the factory clutch, so just a bit of insurance so you don't have to tear it all back down again when the clutch goes. Granted being only 60+ HP engines, these clutches seem to last forever.

And the previous owner said he replaced the clutch last year, but
I guess he didnt do the TOB or something...either way, the clutch
feels great. And the Exedy kit was only $100, but the pilot bearing
and TOB from Timken was only $40 and I just recently bought a ton
of parts for my wife's Forester so I'm trying to keep it cheap. I suppose
if I get in there and the clutch looks like crap I'll order that as well.
