Would this engine be the same as the stock Festiva?
It looks pretty similar to me. And is this a decent price for it?

That would be a second gen B6. These are basically drop in, plug and play engines that give you around 20HP more than stock. Of course with the second gen B6 you have to get a little creative with the VAF, and intake ducting. Other than that, it will run on the B3 ECU and VAF but only as a temporary solution. The B6 ECU and VAF being plug and play as well. As long as it is from a 90s 323.

On the Aspire motors, you use the Festiva intake and I believe you use the disty too. Aspire motors also have roller cam followers instead of the flat cam followers on the Festiva.
And yes, B is the engine series, 3 is a 1.3l or 1300cc, 6 is 1.6l or 1600 cc.

The difference between then Aspire Engines, and Festy Engines is I think the Aspire uses roller lifters. Also I think they don't use a v-belt setup, and use the more common ribbed serpentine belts. Also 1996 and newer ones had OBD2, but I don't know if there are extra sensors that had to have been added for that. I am not sure, but I don't think you can use pre-96' Aspire ECUs, and I definitely tell you that the post-96' ECU will not work because they are OBD2.
But yeah the 3 and 6 is the secondary displacement figure on B-series engine. Here is a good source of info on Mazda B engines.
About every engine on that list, except for the later revisions of the BP have all been crammed into a Festiva at one point. B1 being a stock engine in foreign countries, B5 being a engine option in Australia for the Generation 2 Festiva (What we call Aspire), BJ being a DOHC version of the B3 only used in Japan in the Festiva GTA and GTX models.
The plain jane B6s though are by far the easiest to swap in, especially the first gen B6 (Pre 90s) can be dropped in, and still use the stock intake ducting since the throttle body aims over the valve cover like the stock B3, while the second gen B6 aims to the drivers side like you see in that craigslist ad.
While other engines are a bit more involved, some requiring you to mess with the engine mounts, add wires for sensors that the stock harness doesn't have, and swapping pulleys.
I think probably the second least difficult engine swap is probably the B8 from a Protege which would give 40HP over stock.

To use an aspire engine In a festiva, you need to use ALL festiva radiator parts, the distributed from the festiva and the intake and exhaust from the festiva I believe you can use the 1994-1996.... correct me if I'm wrong....
