  • new to the group need festy value advice

Hey !! 1st post ... I found a 91festiva with a bp swap and festiva tranny. It has been painted and has little to no rust. The car seems good needs brake work motor mounts and a little cleaning but it's all there. What is it worth?? I have looked on Craig's list and there are few comparable cars. My daily is a fiat 500 abarth with some mods. The festiva was quicker then I expected I would love to purchase but don't want to over pay too much. Thanks

Ok so are you going to tell us how much the owner wants for it and may I ask, is it the Gold car up in the North West part of Iowa.

$1000/$1200? Firewall has been cut out. Not banged out. Clutch was not up graded. Makes me wonder how professional rest of install is. Some rust. Very little wow factor with car. Does or does not have Aspire swap. You will have to do some work.

          $1900 sounds a little steep.

Here is the ad on the list. I drove it, the car is in good shape and runs out well but only mod is the engine swap. The car has no aspire swapped anything. It is a gl s ?? Has the cool seats tach dash and spoiler Idk if that's worth money or not.

The car does have rust. Can see it bubbling under the paint in the pictures. It wasn't repaired, just painted over.

Welcome to the forum! Not many people left from the dakotas.

The rust looks pretty minimal, like it could be dealt with at this stage without too much difficulty. With all the extras like tach, spoiler, interior, it's a tough call. Basically it's worth the price if you decide to pay that price. I'd try to talk him down to $1500 tho. Esp. if it still needs brakes and motor mount.

if that one is worth 19 or even 15 then what I have for 2500 is a steal. I spent a g on new parts for install, 600 on donor festy, 500 for donor escort,
ZERO rust, straight body, nice tan int. firewall not cut.

it would be worth the effort for you rust belt boys to come to SC and take a look.

Thanks for the advice. I guess it's worth what I will pay. I think we are in agreement at 1600 now just have to deside if it's the fun car I need. Is there a source for new aspire brakes and hubs or someone here that has a used setup? I looked on rock auto for hubs and can't find anything. I am just trying to mentally prepare for costs to swap the common stuff.

Hubs and rear beams (with all brake parts) are usually acquired at the JY. Figure ~$200 for everything. But the Festy brakes will do for now.

No new hubs that I know of ,but aspire or the often easier to find kia rio hubs are fairly inexpensive in junk yards.
I think I had about 400 in mine that was used rear axel and fresh rebuilt hubs with all new break parts wheel bearings and soft lines.

                        Tom beat me to it
